About Gokyo Lake
Gokyo Lakes are a series of six main glacial lakes located in the Everest region of Nepal at an altitude of around 4,700–5,000 meters. Known for their deep turquoise color, they are considered some of the highest freshwater lake systems in the world. Surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks and glaciers, the lakes lie on the route to Gokyo Ri, a popular viewpoint that offers panoramic views of Mount Everest and other surrounding mountains. The area is less crowded than the main Everest Base Camp trail, making it a peaceful and scenic alternative for trekkers seeking natural beauty and high-altitude adventure.
